Dear Parents,
We are very excited being at school this week as we have been doing so many things in and out of the classroom. The preparation for the Lunar New Year celebration have been on full swing this week as the children have been making dragon lanterns and 'banh chung' out of recycled boxes. Our role play area have been very busy with conversations about what food to serve to families during Tet. Children have been cooking variety of food and have been decorating the 'house' with sorts of different flowers.
The 'Master of Learning' focus this term is 'Perseverance' and we have been looking out for children who don't easily give up on task. We have seen a few children showing perseverance on different activities that we have been doing at school and we hope that they continue showing their best and being brave on trying new things.
We have started asking children to bring home the 'All About Me' bags home for them to share things about themselves with the rest of the class. This is a good opportunity for the children to develop their speaking skills and their confidence to be in front of a group. We encourage parents to help their children choose an object they would like to bring to school and also talk about them with their children so that they are prepared to speak up.
Children have been playing a sound matching game through this website . Please have a look and enjoy playing with your children.
Thank you as well to all the parents and carers who participated in our Activity Day last Thursday. I know you will all agree with me that it has been great doing activities together with your children!
Just a few reminders about what is going on at school next week:
* The TET celebration will be on Thursday 12th February at 8.30am. All children should come to school wearing a traditional Vietnamese dress or Ao Dai.
* There will be NO SWIMMING on Thursday 12th February.
* 'All About Me' bags are taken home by Nghia and Michelle.
* School will close for TET Holiday on Friday at 2,30pm. Please make sure to pick up your child on time.
Thank you and have a lovely weekend.
Regards,
Ms Grace and the F2 Team
