Newsletter 19.12.14

Dear Parents,

It has been a wonderful ending to a fun first term in F2 class. Watching all the children perform in the last Christmas show was a sight to behold. Everyone was looking all festive and the children were all very confident performing in front of a big audience!

Before we end this term, take a look at all the things that we have done this week.

Masters of Learning
This term, we focused on 2 different areas - Internationalism and Enquiry. Children in F2 have taken part in our International Celebration and some of them have shown good understanding of where they are from or where their friends come from however two children in class were exceptionally aware of what this is about. David and Daiwik have been awarded the Masters of Learning for International this term.

On the other, Linh Lan have shown great enthusiasm asking questions about topics that interests her. She then is awarded the Master of Learning for Enquiry.

Last Wednesday afternoon, children were treated to a special Skype call from none other than the man of the hour, Father Christmas! All EYFS children gathered in the Multi Purpose Room to meet Santa Claus and ask him different questions. All were so excited seeing him in the screen talking to them and bringing them cheers.

As always, since we are all going to different places for the holidays may we ask you to upload/update your children's blogs with photographs of your travels so we can show these to the children when we come back after Christmas.

It was a lovely term in F2 and we are looking forward to see everybody when we come back to school on Monday 12th January 2015.

You will see below a slideshow of photos of this week's Christmas rehearsal and show. If you would like to download some of the photos, please click this link http://www.kizoa.com/Video-Maker/d16102649k4875656o1l1/ralph-the-reindeer-

Happy Holidays and safe travels to all.

Best regards,
Ms Grace and F2 team

Just a few reminders:

Newsletter WE 5th December

Dear Parents,

We have been busy preparing for our EYFS Christmas show this week, which will take place on Wednesday 17th December.  The children have been learning lots of Christmas songs with Mr Robbie.

In the classroom, the children have been enjoying playing in Santa's Workshop.  They have been dressing up as Santa, making and wrapping presents as well as making wrapping paper.  We have been focusing on Christmas stories such as 'Panta Clause loves Christmas', Spot's Christmas', Duck and Goose: It's Time for Christmas' and 'Snowmen at Christmas'.

We introduced our special Advent calender at the beginning of the week.  Everyday a different child is asked to trim Santa's beard.  Some children have been asking why Santa has a beard!

We have introduced a range of Christmas vocabulary to the children such as:

-Father Christmas/Santa
-Snowman
-Presents
-Rudolph the red nosed Reindeer
-Christmas tree
-Baubles
-Star
-Stocking

We will be continuing with our Christmas theme until the end of the term.  We will also be having a class Christmas party in the last week.  More details to follow soon.
